At Health and Wellness by Nature, we believe health and wellness extends further than health of the body. It includes every area of our lives. And to have financial wellness could mean the difference between living a stressful life and a joyful life.
The class will be lead by Gwendolyn Randall, an accountant, with more than 25 years experience with managing the money of small businesses, large corporations, and non profits alike. Gwendolyn believes that with coaching and consistency, every individual can learn to manage their money using a system of budgeting.
The financial wellness budgeting class will run for six weeks. The first four weeks will be dedicated to learning the basis for budgeting, prepping for budgeting, actual creation of budget, and understanding our relationship to money.
The final 2 weeks will be coaching students through accountability, allowing them to review and make changes to their budgets as necessary.
Your mindset plays a crucial role in your overall well-being. We will help you develop a positive and growth-oriented mindset that supports your financial goals. We will provide resources and tools to help you overcome limiting beliefs and negative self-talk.
What is a budget? My own personal definition of budget is this. It's the method of empowerment that allows consistent management of our income and how we use that income. The dictionary defines it as an estimate of income and expenditures for a set period of time.
Why budget? Budgets are a means of empowerment. When we allocate where our income is spent, we can allocate to spend more on the things we desire. Be it vacations, philanthropy, or even investing.
Stress can have a significant impact on your health and well-being. Stressing about finances can do a number on the nervous system. During the prepping stage of the class a look at historical spending patterns will be our guide to creating a healthy budget. The use of historical data from the past 30 days is a great way to start the process. And this is what we will do in week two of the class.
What are our thoughts concerning money?
Do we feel we don’t have enough? Do we feel we don’t make enough? Do we feel we need to spend every penny we earn? Do we believe money does not grow on trees?
Our thoughts concerning money frame how we use it.
If, as children we grew up less fortunate, we develop a belief because we are told money does not grow on trees. Even though, it does not grow on trees there is an abundant supply of it, and we can have a large portion of it with the right thinking and actions.
Reframing our thoughts concerning money.
By changing how we feel and what we believe about money, we become empowered to do more to manage it.
The final two weeks of the class will be coaching through accountability. Allowing you to review and make changes to your budget as required. Because sometimes unexpected expenses occur and the need to adjust spending from one category to another may be key to saving the budget.
